Whoa..Long Time Waiting..

So that cartoon I was working on... Yeah, finally finished it. The bad part? It was done months ago and all that was needed was to put it all together! Hahah.. Well it's done now.. Check It!

Back in the Saddle...Again...!

Alright, so besides hitting a major writers/drawing block, it's been pretty busy for me lately. Fortunately I actually have some animation finished, it's just that i need to get it all put together... First will come a quick short with Fly and Roach talking on the couch. I plan on having a few of these every now and then that basically just have the two talking about random stuff... It is all put together and the voices have been recorded I just need to do the lip syncing and yeah, pretty much it! So...lets go!

Filler...

Ok so I've hit a "writers block" these last couple of weeks and now I seem to be slowly coming out of this slump. Since i lagged the last Apt. 308 cartoon that i was supposed to be working on and sorta scrapped the idea of the story I felt bad and wanted to put something up. And what better way to fill the void than with some classic filler!



Yes if you've watched it already thats all there is to it...complete waste of time? Possibly, but hey seriously, what else would you have done for three and a half minutes?

My friend gets bored...Gets on the computer...Then uses ms paint to make these comics...Currently I'm the only fan (or actually the only one that see's them) but now I think I'll release them upon the world..Hahah I've given them their own little nesting spot on the net.
He sends them to me randomly so check back every now and then to appease your oh so weary curiosity!

Anyways

So I found a little process using all the open source software but it turns out right now it's taking me much longer to produce the cartoons this way. I'll be sticking with Toon Boom for my major projects for now, however I'm not giving up on the freebies! I have a toon series or two in the works and i plan on using this new software for it...

So Far So Good...Almost...

So I've pretty much got the workflow down..I uploaded a quick test and the results are pretty favorable. Only problem I seem to be having is getting the video to be in widescreen format...I'll have to work on that...

A Little On The Slow Side..

Soo...haha the new "method" I have here has presented me with a bit of a road block. But none the less, I'm still making some headway.
I've put off the Sesame Street short for now and am working on a quick and easy short to help me find a good way to streamline my process using nothing but free software...damn blogger doesnt support tiff's...

Time For A Change!

So I've been using a borrowed version of Toonboom for the last couple animations. I didn't want to have to buy the actual program, since it's way to expensive, nor did I want to pirate it...Too much trouble!

I remembered a couple of free alternatives. Open-source software that was promising. I hadn't really used them beyond the testing fazes but they have always been stuck in the back of my head.

After being teased with such great "paid" apps I wanted to go back to my roots. That is my broke roots :-D

From here on out (for at least the time being or I get the extra $$$) I'll be dedicated to using nothing but open-source apps for all computer aspects of the animation process. This little experiment should hopefully have some interesting results and I can't wait to see what kind of challenges will come up!

So Beginning tomorrow I'll be starting on a new short I had written up when I was bored... Hahah, It's a quick and simple little something that I hope will be a good starting point for this approach. Until then I'll be documenting this whole ordeal and hopefully have a bit of a "making of/ tutorial" video all set up.

Finally! New Apartment 308 Finished!

After a few days of setbacks the second Apartment 308 short is now LIVE!
Woo..



Now, time to work on the next cartoon..

Busy Week...

So this week ended up being a little busier than usual! A lot of running around and getting things done..but all is not lost! The new Apartment 308 episode is due to come out in the middle of next week, animation is done, backgrounds are finished, coloring is...colored! All that's really left are to lip-sync the voices and add some SFX.

In the mean time a couple of shorts had been written out. The first, i may have mentioned this already, is a quickie involving Big Bird! Haha I'm excited cause this short cartoon is gonna be a bit of an experiment...I shall be using nothing but free open-source programs! I'm gonna try to record most of the ordeal and make a tutorial, hopefully it all works out!

More details later..for now, off to another busy daaay!

Just a Sunday Thing..

Yup lazy Sunday mornings. Almost finished with the new Apartment 308 cartoon just need to finish up with recording their voices then do some lip-syncing. In the mean time I got a new script written out for a short cartoon, let's just say it involves everybody's favorite giant yellow bird...yeah Big Bird..trust me it's gonna be stupendiculous!

Apartment 308 Short #2 in Production!

Production has started on the second episode (or short)for the Apartment 308 series. The first two episodes will be shorts based on two selected comics that I had made a few years back..you can watch the first short below. So for the mean time here are the two comics!

The only difference now will be that i decided to get rid of the tick character and replace him with a worm that lives inside the refrigerator..cause you know, that's just better somehow..

New Blog For the "Studio"

Here we are. A new year and my "studio" is complete for now. This year should see a lot of action as far as all my work is concerned. Got three new episodes in the pipeline, some possible freelance work and other random goodness. So let's all say yaay to the new year and hope we get some actual work done...finally..
